When fishing a hump, say top of hump is in 4' of water and base of hump is in 12' of water, with soft plastics, do you fish up the hump or drag your bait down the hump. Or does it not matter.

dont see how it would matter but normally i start on top and work my way down simply because it seems more natural if a fish is watching it fish in my area don't seem to want to chase a bait up but will case it down for some reason, at least on the river i fish

On most structure I almost always sit shallow & throw deep (working the lure uphill) for the simple fact my lure stays in contact with the bottom longer.

You must first consider where on the hump the bass are located, the most active bass are usually found on the top of the hump, while less active fish relate to the deeper sides or ends.

Agreed the most active fish are usually shallow so I usually sit deep and throw shallow but sometimes it works just the opposite. Don't get trapped into what worked yesterday, last week or last year is what is effective today.
