Bps A/m24 Life Vest Inflates At The Wrong Time!!

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Hope everyone is having a great fishing season!!

I had a situation today that I wanted to run by the members on the board. I recently purchased a Bass Pro Shops (made by Onyx)automatic/manual life vest. Today, the vest was sitting on the drivers seat with the kill switch cord attached and suddenly inflated. Scared the crap out of me!! It was not submerged nor was the manual pull string engaged.

Anyone else ever had this problem with this vest?? Should i just take it back to BPS and explain what happened??

I would return it to BPS. Their customer service is usually very easy to deal with and should allow you to return or replace the item.

I have heard someone else describe your exact situation once before. However, their vest was sitting in the backseat of their truck and the extreme heat triggered it.

Take it to BPS, they'll probably either exchange it, or rearm it. You might want to upgrade to a Mustang. I've had my HIT model for three years, only time it inflated is when I tested it out in the neighbor's pool, and when my buddy turtled a kayak wearing it.
