I have a lund adventure series its an aluminum boat but the flooring is wood. When i bought it the floor was all rotted out so I had my brothers dad put a new floor in. He says it rotted out because the carpet was holding moisture in. He's just going to paint it but I'm worried that, that will be to slippery. Any suggestions on what to seal it with or how to still have carpet with out this happening again. Is there something special that most people use.

The floor rotted out because the factory didn't take the time and expense of treating the wood properly. Follow my directions and the floor will outlive you. Treat every piece of wood (old and new) this way. Buy fiberglass resin and cloth at Home Depot. Mix the fiberglass resin by the directions on the can, then dilute it to a thin mix with acetone. I only worked with about 6 ounces of material at a time to keep it from setting up too quickly. Paint every surface of your wood with this diluted mix and let it set up. Give it 3 coats. The diluted resin will soak into the wood where the acetone will evaporate leaving the wood impregnated with fiberglass resin. Then give it a final undiluted coat and apply the fiberglass cloth and give it a final coat. After this sets rough up the surface in preparation of carpeting. Buy your carpet and cut it to fit. Then apply carpet adhesive and install the carpet. Use a roller to smooth it out and avoid bubbles. I used a wooden baking rolling pin. This floor will last the life time of the boat. Happy fishing!

what about that non-slip vinyl boat flooring? It comes in plenty of colors and all you have to do is stretch a piece nice and tight around the wood then staple it and cut off any excess.
