Crankbaits

Featured Replies

Bombers are great crankbaits.  I typically use bass colored cranks during the summer.  You could also use shad, but I have had the best luck on bass.

For hot summer days and fishing deep. Norman DD22 and DD14. I love all of the shad patterns. For 10' or less, I really like Bandits.

Strike King's series of crankbaits are good, as well as Bomber's Fat Free Shad.

Like others have said, shad patterns work well in the summer.

Bomber Fat Free Shads and DD22. I only get a chance to fish deep with I go out with a buddy of mine, other than that. I have no idea how to locate deep fish.

Land it with a Bandit.

whats a good brand of crankbait to fish during the summer and what color

There are countless brands of good crankbaits. Get yourself a couple of lures from a well-known company. Make sure the running depth is the depth you want to fish and two colors should serve you well, one muted, such as shad or bluegill and a bright, such as firetiger.

I've caught a ton of fish so far this year on a Bandit 100 series in Tennessee Shad color. I found it in the trees and it's my best producer so far this year.

If you got the money buy a Lucky Craft or two.

A good wide wobbling crankbait in a shad pattern is great in Summer...if you have shad or a silvery baitfish as a main prey.

Bombers, Bandits, bagleys, Normans, and Strike King all make good cranks.

Bandits and Norman Deep Little Ns are great for learning and catching fish on cranks

The bigger models can be work and play on your confidence but once you cross that threshold you will have some outstanding catches and limits on them. My personal favorite big crank is the DD22.
