Submerged Road Beds

Featured Replies

Ive been hearing of these more and more frequenetly recently when watching some fishing shows. I was wondering if all lakes have them or which ones usually do? Do i just pull up a map and look at roads that stop just short of the water?

usually your man-made lakes will have them if any. is there a contour map of the lake/lakes in question? usually they will have any roads that were present before the area was flooded drawn out on the map. otherwise, i guess you could fish out from where the old road is visible from the bank but sometimes they are hard to make out. good electronics will show them to you. if all you have is the cheap factory etch-a-sketch electronics like i have, then look for the depth change once you have determined the vicinity of the road bed. hope that helps

I know on Fork the easiest way to find a road bed would be to find a place that has a straight path with stumps on both sides. It looks just like a road. I caught a 8lb 4oz off of a road bed over there this spring.
