Applying Scents With A Sponge

Why - are you afraid to touch it? I use JJ's or Megastrike. With JJ's, you dip and dry, and pray you don't get it on your hands. Megastrike, I squeeze a dab on my finger, and smear it on the bait.

I agree. Megastrike is very "clean" and easy to apply. Best of all, it flat works!

I got a container of homemade scent from a friend the other day and it's a thick, oily, Garlic scent which he said was made with natural ingredients, but he sent it to me in a small, 4 oz. plastic Zip Loc container and whenever I rub it on baits like senkos the scent dries and my hands are then filled with salt after the scent dries

That's what a fishing towel is for. ;)

ok, I was just wondering. I was going to suggest to him to give his scent out with a piece of sponge as an applicator

PJ, Just put a small amount of your scent gel, paste etc. in one of your sturdy, empty re-sealable soft plastic bait bags (like RT bags) Insert your rigged bait, massage around, remove bait, re-seal the bag, fish with no mess, no waste.

You can use the sponge tactic with tubes.

You can also use cotton balls.

Put your scent on the sponge or cotton ball and insert into your tube.

You can put Carolina Lunker Sauce onto your baits right from the container as you know. I put it on my plastics in the grass without any problem and on hard baits, too.

Got MegaStrike all over my rod and reel on the Mattaponi River this weekend and had very little problem with it. The nonboater asked me why I dipped the rod and reel into the water and I told him it was to get it wet so I could wipe off the MegaStrike. ;)
