Wacky rig hooks

Featured Replies

What do you guys think of the Gamy splitshot/dropshot hook or the shiner hook for wacky rigging? Primarily for 5" senko type baits. Any other good suggestions?

another possibility is the owner wacky hooks in size 1. they have worked well for me. i might have to try the weedguard gammys for fishing around docks...

    3/0 circle hooks.

With circle hooks the bass never swallow the hook, so you don't have to worry about killing bass and losing hooks.

i own wacky hooks, but i never use them. I have a senko rod and i always have a 4/0 gammy ewg hook on for texas rigging, and when i wanna go to  wacky rigging i just remove the senko from being texas rigged and stick the hook through the middle making it wacky. works just fine, never had any issues with it.

Too small.  They work great for their intended purpose, with thinner plastics.  Try the Gama 2/0 Wide Gap Finesse hooks or the new Owner Wacky Hooks.  Both work very well.  Also, think about using a snell connection with fluoro (if you are using that).  It is very strong and reliable.

I've been thinking of doing this exact thing for the same reason.
