Rattle Head Baits

Let's see if I can put this in context, Rattle Head Baits sent me spinner bait, buzz bait, and a jig to evaluate. I had mentioned in a post about spinner baits that I had wore 3 spinner baits out this year and one was the Rattle Head. I promptly received a PM from Rattle Head Baits asking about his product.

Dude I need to do you a write up that bait's performance was awesome; I don't know if anyone has told you but that bait comes through grass better than any spinner bait I've ever used.

The ¼ oz Wedge was Jack (fishfordollars) Yates so I have no idea haw many was caught on it before I got it; I would say it broke some where after 30-40 bass.

The 3/8 oz Wedge was 2 or 3 years old and I have no way of knowing how many it caught

The Rattle Head was brand new out of the package and I caught some where between 125-150 bass before I left it at my buddy Pat's camp who used it for 4 straight days before telling me it broke. That baits ability to come cleanly through Hydrilla, Coontail Moss, Milfoil, and Skunk Weed was unbelievable; usually with a quick flick of the wrist cleared all grass. The hook stuck the fish extremely well although I still can't vouch for the head design being a plus or not. I'm extremely hard on spinner baits ricocheting them off stumps, bouncing them over logs, and man handling them through buck brush. Occasionally I had to squeeze the wire together after a savage hit from a keeper bass but it always run true.

The buzz bait has produced bass but the buzz bait bite has not been real strong this year and the jig bite is near none exist.

How did it rate against the Stanley? It's one bait I'll add to my arsenal of spinner baits which consists of 99% Stanley; it comes cleaner through the grass than any on the market.

The spinner bait in question was 3/8 oz 24-karat gold/nickel plated willow leaf blades Chartreuse/White skirt.

Tommy (Catt) Thibodeaux

I received 2 spinnerbaits a while back as well. The lake I fish the most is polluted with hydrilla and I found the exact same thing Catt. I've never had another spinnerbait come through the grass better than the Rattle Head spinnerbait!!! Great design!
