Susquehanna Near Harrisburg Pa

Featured Replies

Got an email of an aerial view of how bad the Susquehanna river is right now. This picture is taken at Clarks Ferry. I used to travel this way to tech school back in the day. I can honestly say I've never seen it this bad!

Wow....how far below the bridge does the water normally run?

Good GOD! I didn't know it was that high! That river is well under that bridge usually, I'd say a good 30 feet under (not sure exactly)... The strip clubs are underwater! :P

Like I said, I've never seen it that high there. I used to make that run daily to go to tech school. I've seen a bunch of pics and videos on FB from friends along the Susquehanna. Its unreal. The underpass (where the train bridge crosses over 322) looked like a canal instead of a highway in another pic I had seen. I hope our Statue of Liberty is ok! :) And yep, I did see another pic where that strip club at Clarks Ferry is definitely flooded. LOL! I also heard the Juniata hit 19' at Newport. How bad is it up in Lewistown?

Wow that's crazy. I know that area very well. I have friends near Selinsgrove they said that major roads are flooded out everywhere. Luckily they are on some higher ground.

Lewistown crested at just under 20. Its down to 12 now and it's pouring right now. Going back up! Our flooding was minor... the usual campers and barrels floating down the river.

I went to where the susquehana and conestoga meet (safe harbor) when the rivers were at crest stage...the river was about 2 feet from the road, when its usually about 100-150 feet from the road. It made for some great catfishing though!

Swatara was really high during that time too. We have a cabin about two miles about the Susquehanna (hummlestown area) and the river crested at almost 28 feet. It was awful.
