What lure is this?

Featured Replies

I found this in a creek near Gatlinburg. When you pull the cable, the clear bottom opens, exposing a barbless hook. It's about 3 inches long with Spin Master and "fogo" on it. I've searched and didn't find anything. What is it???

Scott.

yeah, that is a pretty unique design but I can't see how you would get a good hookset with that plastic shield in the way

You have yourself a rocket fishing rod lure.  Gotta keep the hook covered for the kids!  ;D

Fogo is who makes it, and it is sold by spin master...Marketed by...Roland Martin!

wow what a piece of junk!

i can see their reasoning behind the lure, its weedless until a fish hits and you set the hook, releasing the cover and hooking the fish...but...once the cover is open, its still in the way of hooking the fish, and i would think that when you go to set the hook, the cover would open and then hit the front of the fish's mouth and then close back on the hook...

also, does that hook extend out of the body any more than what is pictured? if not, then that is pretty pointless...especially if its barbless, how is that supposed to hold a fish!?

thats just a silly lure all together... ;D

LOL, that's it alright.  What a dumb gimmick.  Good marketing though, both my kids knew what they were when we saw them at the store...
