First off, stupid touch screens with terrible locks....

So my Samsung Reality unlocked it self today in my pocket and decided it wanted to click a bunch of stuff that I was unaware of. Now when I turn it on it asks me to press send to activate my phone, and then there is a solid color triangle symbol by where it shows my signal. When I press send it askes me for my lock code (The code for only when I turn my phone on) and the code I had before (1795) doesn't work, or any other code I tried including 1111 and 0000. So now I cant get into my phone because it's locked with a password I dont even know. FML. Does anyone know if I can reset it?

If you haven't already, try the last 4 digits of your phone number, i.e if your number is xxx-yyy-abcd, try punching "abcd".

My sister had that happen last year. Tech support couldn't unlock it due to the code only being stored on the phone. She had to get a new phone if I recall correctly. However, the sim still worked so she didn't lose all her contacts and what not. Best advice I have is do a hard reset. Pull the battery out for 60secs and then reinsert and see if that helps. Otherwise I dunno. Best of luck to ya.

deep: I did, they couldnt really help me. Said to go in store.

and Raider : I have Verizon so there's no sim card.

Gotta love Verizon. Did you have Ur stuff saved to the sd or directly to the phone?

I will give Verizon this though. They are usually real good about either fixing or replacing handsets. Be it your fault or the phones.

I know the reset code, but it will wipe it to factory settings.

This works on most Samsung phones (not Android ones)

Again this will CLEAR THE PHONE AND YOU'LL LOSE EVERYTHING: dial *2767*3855# like your calling that number and it will reset.

Edit: it won't delete your memory card.

There are us regular folks, and then there are folks like Nate who keep the electronic world from locking up all around us. Nate, you rock!

Lol thanks LM. Been selling phones and other communication stuff for 6 years now (manage the store). You learn a lot of neat tricks ;)

I was going to suggest skipping samsung altogether.

Now Nate, I cant send/recieve texts or phone calls, but I can still use the internet, 3g, email, etc.

When I try and call someone it says something like "Verizon can't authenticate your phone."

Try dialing *228 and select option 1 when the lady starts talking. Sit through the cheesy music until the lady says your phone was programmed.

Anytime man... Anytime ;)

Actually, I hate being the 'phone guy' (and computer guy). Only time you hear from family is when it's time to upgrade or their phone is broke... Or computer... Or TV.. I need friends.

Well Nate, we're your friends smile.gif lol

Well the reset didnt work so another phone call to verizon. After about half an hour we tried changing the NAM. Dont know what that did, or what it is, but now my phone works smile.gif

Number Assignment Module - basically it allows you to program your phone with different numbers/carriers... I'm pretty sure Verizon has it locked down pretty tight, so everyone don't be getting excited thinking you can unlock a Verizon phone for another CMDA carrier. There are ways, but I've never had much success unlocking Verizon phones. AT&T on the other hand... SIMPLE!
