How Would You Fish A Reservoir Like This

Featured Replies

Piney run Park Details:

- Artificial structures were placed in close relation to fishing piers

- Water clarity can be defined as clear.

- Overabundance of vegetation hindering boating and fishing strategies during the summer and fall time periods.

- Surface area of 298 acres

- Earthen Dam

- They have a couple of docks to fish from and you can walk the trail to the left of the general store, in front of the docks.

- It's not very deeps and in the summer the weeds make it impossible to fish.

- ton of sunk xmas trees and cinder blocks

Jigs on the structure, weightless trick worms in between the weeds, or senko. Top water frogs.

And:

- Bluegills can be had almost anywhere along shoreline

- brush piles & beaver dams around the edges of the lake (There's a big one just to the right of the ramps, about 50' from the shore, which is visible.)

I have had alot of success with a colorado blade spinnerbait and you said it was clear so i like white skirts and gold or silver blades or a senco with a wacky rig or like he said weightless finess worms work and also try a popper or a sammy some type of walk the dog baits for topwater if the frog fails not all ponds are frog friendly. try all types of baits before giving up sometimes the ponds or lakes that are hard to fish get little presure or non at all and could be some great honey holes! let us know how it goes and what u found out to work!

Wait until the weeds start to die and soak jigs in the Christmas trees. Jerkbaits and scroungers around the drops to the brush piles.

Hard to do from shore without a boat but punching the grass with the right baits and equipment will always get their atterntion especially on waters that others will avoid when the grass takes over. The fish are still hungry and basically in the same areas as before but also under the thickest grass mats near deeper water. Hope that helps!
