Central Oklahoma Fishing

Recommended Posts

Anyone know where some good bass fishing in Central Oklahoma is?

Hey Spiky, do you have your own boat?

I do have a boat.

You should really consider pulling your boat down to the south, southeast part of the state when you have a long weekend or vacation. Lake Murray, Lake Sardis, McGee Creek Lake, (my favorite) and Broken Bow Lake all offer some choice bass fishing. These lakes were stocked with Florida strain bass in the 80's and there has been some hawgs pulled out of these lakes. I could be wrong, but I think if the state record is ever broken it will be caught from one of these lakes.

For those of us boat challenged are there any ponds that are accessible around Edmond\Guthrie that hold bass?? I'm new to the area and have no idea how to find access to ponds, etc. I have fished Lake Guthrie with no success thus far. I have been told that there are lots of private ponds around here but it's a case of knowing either the owner or fishing with someone who has permission to fish these ponds. Being the new guy does have it's drawbacks...:)

Thanks...
