Identify This Bass (Please)

Featured Replies

Hi fellas,

Just need some help figuring out what this is. My dad and uncle are on Smith Mountain lake and they caught this little guy. Doesn't look like a LM but yet it also doesn't look like a SM either. Just curious.

Thanks!

Jason

I second that. Looks like a small mouth. I also believe his name is Charlie and he has been missing for two weeks. :D

Thank you good sirs. Knowing my pops he was released shortly after this photo to grow into a big ole pig!

Tight lines!

Hard to tell exactly, but I think I detect a bit of a Kentucky's lateral line so you could have a meanmouth there. Any spotted bass in this lake?

Have to agree... smallie no doubt.

Thanks again fellas. It was hard to tell because it didn't have the coloration and size of the giant ones you guys post on here. I hope to go there with them some day and catch one of my own! (except around 6lbs, haha!)

I agree

Smallie. No doubt.

Smallie, the jaw doesn't extend past the eye and you can always tell by how the mouth tends to be pointed 'down' more than other bass.
