I carved out two new crankbait patterns out of Basswood. Both took me about five hours each to carve, to get the look I was after.

Killer names Skeeterman!!

Exceptinal work there, hard to pick a favorite. Wood chips and sawdust have to be two of the most addictive things I know of.

I thought the painting was addictive, but I believe the carving has it beat. I wish my Dad was still around to see these. He used to sit out on the front porch and whittle all afternoon. He didnt make baits, but would carve out all types of things. I am definately having fun carving them!!

That first one looks like jack skellington, you should paint one like him :P

Great work! Love seeing original designs like this.

Or currently Red Skelton...:D

Nice indeed! I like skeetermans names.

The carving is outstanding and the finished baits look great. Just 1 question, are you trying to scare the fish to jump in the boat or what? Those baits look mean:)

Thanks Marty!! Halloween coming up inspired me a little on these. The paint patterns, I just went with something out of the ordinary.

I love them. It's great to see some origional designs. When I saw the two pics of the third one the first thing that came to my mind was it looks like a Viper's Head. I love it.
