Quality Tackle Bag

Featured Replies

I'm not sure what forum this goes in but I would like to know who makes quality tackle bags and how much I should spend on one. I'm tired of having to carry my small plano tackle box, my big browning worm binder, and my small plano spinnerbait box separately. I want a medium sized bag so I will only have one thing to lug around.

Thanks

The big green Ocheechobee Fats bag from Wal Mart I got it on sale with 7 2700 boxes 3 years ago for 40 bucks! Look for it in the fall, they discount them!

It is fraying around the sun glass holder, but I am rough on bags and this one is standing up to it all 8-)

I just picked up the Cabela's Pro Guide 3700 bag with boxes for $24.99 from the online bargain cave. I'm very happy with it, though it's pretty big, and sometimes I wish it was a bit smaller. I'm thinking of going with all 3705 boxes for it, and then I can throw those into a smaller bag with specific boxes for what I need, for the times that my buddy and I go out on his small jon boat. The 3600 bag really is a better size, but for the price, I couldn't pass it up. Keep your eye on their site, as they've been going on and off sale for the last few weeks.

Only you can determine how much to spend based on what a good bag is worth to you. There are a number of bags that are well made. When I personally am in the market for a bag, I don't get overly concerned with the brand, I need to get something that is the right size and has the right number and size and configuration of pockets that matches my storage needs.

A year ago it was Cabela's that had the bag closest to my needs, but you might need something completely different.

Dude, I have been using my old adidas and nike soccer bags.  They are big enough to hold all my stuff and seem to be made well enough to not break holding everything

I forgot who even made the one that I have. But, it is made to hold the smaller plastic boxes. It holds four in the bottom compartment, 3 to 4 in the center, and one in the very top. It is not bulky like most, it is very slender and easy to carry. I got it at Wal-Mart a few years back.

How much do you want to spend?

BPS and Cabelas both make some nice medium size bags and they are very reasonably priced. I have not seen the Ocheechobee bags at our local Wal-Marts at all this year. Just some soft Plano Bags.

Falcon makes some very very nice bags, at least the older V6 and V12 bags were. I was told that the new Falcon bags and storage boxes are now made by Plano. Which is why I guess the new Plano Elite Bags look like the new Falcon bags. They are a little pricey though.

Later, :)

Thanks for the help I just purchased a Cabela's Pro Guide 3600 on sale for $20.00 so hopefully this will help out.
