Tru Tungsten Mad Maxx Frogs vs Spro

Featured Replies

I have used the spro frogs quite a bit and LOVE them.  I was looking on the Bass Pro Website to see if they were possibly on sale when I saw the Mad maxx Frogs.  They are beautiful!  They look to be very similar to the Spro frogs, but the colors are just different.  Has anyone used these?  Im gonna be in a tournament fishing lily pads and need at least 2 new frogs.  One of my spros had a leg ripped off.  Anyone have luck witht eh Mad Maxx?

The mad maxx has a drain feature to keep the frog from taking on too much water.

IMO, Spro's the way to go, I got one of these and the clearance for the hook and the weight is too close together. You only get a little gap between the weight and the hook. So I personally would rate the Tru Tungsten one, a 3 outta 10.

Haven't fished it yet but I got my TT frog in the mail last week.  It is a good looking frog but it is made from much stiffer material than the Spro. I dunno if that will have much of an impact on hooksets although I imagine it would be less likely to hang up and grab moss.  A good looking frog though and I'll hopefully be putting it through its paces after work today.

I picked up one yesterday while at BPS took it home opened it squezed it a few times and the eyeball fell off.  hopefully I will get to use it this week
