Hey guys, im stuck trying to decide what reel to get, and i'd really appricaite your help.

I really love the Curado, it is a very nicely made reel, very good quality and smooth

I have never used the smoke but i have tried it in the store, it seems very good and close to the curado, i have a couple questions with this,(im talking about the 150) how much line does this hold, and does it have any kind of warente?

And last of all the quantum energy pt vi, i have only seen pictures online of this reel and read not much about it, but i really like it, can you guys tell me any thing about it?

and if you were wondering what i am going to use it for, i fish alot of lakes, normally just for bass, and ocassionaly chain pickerel. thank you very much!!

I use a bunch of Quantum products including the 150 Smoke and the PT Vi. The reals are great! But I do like the Energy PT way better than the Smoke. They just seem to be built more solid and cast a little better IMO. If you fish a lot of windy conditions the Energy is the best real I think that can cast a light crankbait into the wind. Try that with a Smoke and Poof birds nest. The Energy's are discontinued and therfore the Smoke has replaced them. You can find all the details and specs on these reels and Quantums, Bass Pro or ***'s websites. I am thinking of trading my Smokes for Energy's over the winter if I can find them for a good deal. As for the Curado's... I have never used any Shimano baitcasters so I have no opinion to share. Hope this helps.

I agree with Steve, the Energy's are awesome reels. I as well have never used the Curado but I have used the smoke and all in all the smoke is a good reel but it can't beat the Energy. Have you thought about trying the Abu Garcia Revo reel? The Revo is a great reel. Anyway, good luck.

And I haven't fished either of the Quantums, but the good old 'rado is one heck of a reel.

Look on Ebay and get a Curado E! Great reel at a great price. THey are going for $120-$130 NIB.

I don't know why you'd get any reel that didn't say SHIMANO on the side of it somewhere. Just sayin.

The Energies are discontinued? I just saw the 2012 Quantum product guide and the Energy is listed. What am I missing?

As for my input on what you should get Jim3h, out of the reels you have listed I have only used the Energies and would recommend them to anyone. Great reels IMO.

Curado... tough to beat that reel with any other below $200.

Go with the Energy PT VI as it's a great reel in the quantum line. The previous model of Energy PT's aren't bad reels either and often on sale on ebay as well.
