Organizing Soft baits

Featured Replies

How does everyone organize their soft baits? I just have tons of the bags thrown into my tackle bag.

Went over to "Target" got some metal shower curtain rings. They do a pretty good job. But you might want to have a round hole paper punch handy when the holes in your bags rip out.

Let us know what you end up doing.

Get yourself a duffle bag and throw all of your plastics in it.

    (This is what I do)

I you want to be even more organized, get some gallon Zip-Loc bags and put a certain type of plastic in one bag and a different type of plastic in another bagand so on and so forth.

Use a Sharpie to mark the Zip-Loc bags so their easy to find.

     :)

I ended up going to wall mart and got a large plano utility box that even has a handle on it. Holds about 80% of my soft plastics which is plenty for a day of fishing heck even a week and it keeps them organized neatly by color and so on.

I get the larger size plano boxes, 11 X 7.25 X 13.25, some with dividers, some without.

On the end, I mark the contents with a Sharpie, then affix a piece of clear packing tape over the contents.

Here's how some are marked.

    *** and Senkos

    Rage Tail

Strike King Elaztech, Perfect Plastic, Flappin Hogs

*** Floaters, Finesse, Trailers and Tubes

    Jigs and Trailers

Then in smaller organizers which came with a couple of Bait Box tackle boxes I have hooks, sinkers, jig heads, and other small pieces, each box labeled accordingly.

Also a Plano line holder, primarily for the leader materials.

Another Rubbermaid container for sunglasses, cell phone, extra batteries for the sounder, and a clip on visor led night light.  I never forget my prescription sunglasses.

Take of my regular glasses, put them in the case the sunglasses come out of.

Name, address and phone number on the inside and outside of the cover.  Watertight protection for cell phone.

It all goes into a large duffel bag.

Take out anything I won't need, and toss the duffel bag into the boat.

I have a few different boxes for the different baits that are in them. Such as, lizards, Senkos, tubes and craws, etc.

here mine simple cheap easy get some Rubbermaid rough tote make sure there Rubbermaid other brands turn brittle and break .iv got 2 box's one with hard baits and one with soft .for the soft go to wally world get the sterilite shoe box's .97 cents fits plastic perfect i drill some holes under the rim to let moisture escape.100_1179.jpg

I use the BPS double sided large binders. They hold a ton of plastics and keeps them very organized as well.

I keep the plastics in their original bags and just place them inside the zip lock plastic bags in the binder. Allows me to store from 1 to 5 or so bags of plastics in one zip lock bag.

Later, :)

Do you really like carrying around those two huge boxes?

I use electronics bags from Cabelas. I have 1 for dropshot baits, 1 for Senkos/creatures, 1 for tubes and 1 for gobys & big tubes. They come in 3 sizes.
