What price range you looking at? Shimano Compre tough to beat for the price. Powell MAX also a decent stick for the money. On the pricey end there are a million great options.

St. Croix LTB Big Cranker or Avid Medium Moderate is a great choice and it only gets better from there.

A price range would be very helpful.

I like a glass rod for cranking. Dobyns 705 for square bills and lighter cranks, Dobyns 765 for deep cranks. Also have a Powell glass rod and it works fine too.

These are the exact two rods that came to mind when I first read the original post.

St.Croix Pro Glass, 7' MH/M. I use it for all my cranks except my deep runners.

I would go with the Quantum Tour KVD rods. They are awesome! I have a 7'0, a 7'4, and 2 7'10 KVD rods. Best I've used! Cranking is my favorite technique, so I've used a lot of cranking rods. They are awesome rods and the price can't be beat!

All Star ASR makes a techniques specific Cranking Rod great bang for buck! ASR866CB or ASR845C

Depends on your price range but at a little over $100, St Croix makes the Premier Glass which is a great rod in that price range and above. I also like the old Lamiglass Skeet Reese blanks.
