I have been fishing soft swim baits for a while and want to buy some hard ones. Which ones have the best action for around $25? I was looking at the Tru-Tungsten baits and the SK.

for your $$ range,

i would go with the spro bbz 1.

if you want to go higher ($$),

i recomend mattlures hardgill series...

but in your range, the spro is the ticket....

i own 2, and they are amazing baits.

Spro BBZ-1 Shad is great hard swimbait in your price range.

Great action and fantastic colors.

The 6" BBZ should be out relatively soon and looks like a decent bait.  I have two of the SPRO Shads and while they look cool in the water, I have yet to hook up with them.

Hard swimbaits in that price range are hard to come by, at least ones that have a great amount of realism and detail.

The Sebile Magic Swimmer is another in that range that will produce.

Like was said above, if you can hold out and save some money, the Mattlures Hard BG is second to none.  They can typically be had lightly used or even new for around $40-45.  You just have to look....and hope I dont see it first.   ;D

Not to hijack this, but on that spro 4"shad what color and sink rate do you guys use?

Different tool. Has it's place, but the Hardgill is a better "swimming" bait than the Ultimate gill (more of a "jigging" bait)

For the sink rate I use Slow Sink because the baits aren't cheap and this is the most versitile sink rate.

For the color I go with Natural Shad.

Anything but the Revolution Shad and Bluegills.... >

as for sink rates on the bbz 1

of the 2 i own...

one is blue herring floater

the other is dirty shad slow sink....

after owning both, i would just suggest getting the slow sink... it gets the most use from me, you can keep it at the top like the floater, or you have the option to run it under the surface a little..... its much more versitile if only buying one.
