I second the L&L conditiioner. I use the ardent brand and it makes a huge difference considering how cheap each application is. As for line/braid, use what you like. I used spiderwire for several years before going to all flourocarbon. I rarely use braid now, but if it works for you that's all that matters. "better" is a subjective term anyways in this context.

So I spent my $270 of guilt free money yesterday at Bass Pro. New Citica ( last one on the shelf ), and also picked up the KVD L&L. Applied it last night, waiting till later to try my travel rig. Its got 10# mono. As for the Citica, still had plenty of 65# Spiderwire left. I dont I can make the change, especially since the wife bought me a spiderwire backbag for when I walk to canals. By the way, this bag holds soo much stuff, and is sold at Dicks Sporting goods. Single strap across the chest makes it very comfortable, along with a padded back.

The KVD L&L will serve you well. It also helps control color fade in braids, if that matters to you. Give your guides a squirt, too.

The Citica is an excellent purchase. If you're into tinkering, try replacing part #3521 with part #0031 from the Curado, for a smoother retrieve and better durability. While you're in there, install a Carbontex Drag - probably the BEST upgrade for any reel.

Ill have to try squirting the guides and my braid (too late on the fading, but I use the black Sharpie trick). Thanks for the tip.
