Need help? When to use them, flukes, worms, creature baits???

Featured Replies

I was wondering when should I use different style baits.

I always start off with a spinner bait, or crank bait as start.

I use bait casters with either 12 lb test fluoro or mono.

When do I know when to use what ie, flukes, worms creature baits.

I understand that the fish will let me know what they want, but when they aren't talking, then I am not catching.

Let me know what you use an when, as well as how you work them.

thanks id advance.

After fishing fast I would then slow down, Which one you use could depend on the cover. If I am near matted grass I will use a heavy weighted creature bait like the woolybug, If it is around wood cover I like the worm a little more, with maybe an 1/8th or 3/16ths oz weight. And if I am up near docks I like a weightless fluke skipped way up under and worked back in a pull twitch pause method.

It will differ for every situation and every angler.

There are no rules!

This is my suggestion:

"Moving" baits early, finesse later. Slug-Go (flukes) seem

to work best when bass are working baitfish on the surface.

To get a jump start and catch a few fish quickly, it's hard to

beat a Senko or Fat Ika.

and to add to RW. Try to find a lure that works thru the cover well. After the fast bite is over, you need a biat that can get in the fish's face for a little while. Play with different lures. It can be confusing but think of you a little process for picking lures throughout the day and stand by it. Sometimes its just a matter of sticking it out more than it is about the lure.
