The are so much fun. I rarely say any animal has personality, but mini-donks do. I had a couple as a kid and they were more like dogs around the ranch than the dogs were. They'd follow us everywhere, they were wonderful with little kids. They were SUPER for taking to horse shows, kids could get up close and personal with them and they'd let them do near anything. Never had one bite or kick. We had one that was house broken and allowed her to come in as she got older, she wouldn't walk anywhere there was carpet, and slept in the kitchen. It's almost as though you could see the appreciation for letting her old bones get a break from the cold. She figured out how to let herself out, we'd check on her as it got dark, she'd be waiting on the mud porch...
