Just wondering what you guys do the day of or day after a nasty cold front in Florida. There are alot of variables that one could think of leading to many different answers. I'll start, if it's one of the first fronts of the year I'll start with topwater as the water temp probably wasn't affected too much. I'll then switch to a medium diving crank and target fish that may be suspended. Finally I'll throw a jig and work the bottom as I think fish may have already hit the buffet the day before and hope they won't pass up an easy slow moving jig on the bottom. To get more technical I usually look for the first significant drop off from the shoreline and work this area with the above mentioned techniques.

If it's a nasty cold front and not a tournament, then I stay home. If I did fish though, I would do what you said, excpet I would use a pointer minnow instead of topwater. I would also concentrate on docks/structure using the jig.

If it's not a tournament I stay home too. If I have to fish then all I need is a flippin stick. Punching holes in thick mats is almost always your best bet in a cold front.

I try one of two things - a dropshot or jerkbait. I can usually pick up on a slow bite with a DS.

I shutter at the thought of using one but when the bite is slow a senko generally will produce, I've done ok the last few days with one. Glad no one was around, I would have been embarrassed using a worm.....lol.

I've been here full time for 7 years, previously from Michigan. Anything under 75 I'm wearing long underwear and thermal socks now...........haha.

I don't like it, I don't enjoy it and I miss a lot of fish, I don't always feel the bite, I always wonder what part of the mat matters etc but, if you are fishing competitively or if it really matters to you to have a good day after one of these fronts down here then...punch mats idiot, punch mats idiot....
