Worm Rod And Reel

Featured Replies

i need a new rod and reel combo for plastic worms ect. my old one broke last summer and my highschool team is starting to get together. is there a good setup for under $150? thanks for the help!!!

For rod and reel???

Maybe a used Pro Qualifier, and a BPS Carbonlite, Falcon Buuco, Vendetta, etc, etc.

No real experience with rods in that price range other than Falcon lowrider, and lowrider XG rods. Which have gone up quite a bit since I last bought one.

Anytime you are fishing a contact bait, and on a budget, the fleamarket area of this site is going to be your friend.

Academy H2O xpress ethos rod (59.99) paired with either a H2O xpress mettle reel(49.99) or H2O xpress maniac reel (69.99).

Check your local Dicks for something on clerance. Might get lucky. With new things coming out soon, last year reels can be a steal.

Look for deals on a 7' MH/F rod, and ahigher gear ratio reel with a metal frame.

I'd focus more on the rod if you want it for worm fishing/bottom contact.

If you are part of a bass club, a lot of the guys are always looking to offload some of their old rods/reels. Sometimes they are sponsored by the rod/reel company and get good deals to begin with.

And it is always nice doing business with people you know.

I have found the amount of things you can buy from your buds in the club is crazy! Better selection than bass pro haha
