Bucking rivets
That's not the case. Solid rivets clamp between the head and the flattened end. if removed properly when changing one the hole will be the exact same as before. There are scenarios where the shank is swelling in the hole but in those case damage is occurring. That damage will be visible on the bucked side of the rivet as well

Bucking rivets
It really depends on how much the rivet was already bucked. A rivet that is over bucked won't hold any tighter than a rivet that is simply bucked properly. In my position I would change them or apply some free flowing sealer like gluvit

Someone Measure A Minn Kota Pedal
Can someone measure a Minn Kota pedal for me. How long and how wide. I would appreciate it. Stuck at work so I can't do it myself. I'm going to build a recessed tray at work today

Why Are The Trades Being Forsaken?
I have been out of school for going on 15 years. I just started college courses in January. While not exactly a trade, I had a great job. I worked as a department manager at a boat manufacturing company. Making great money, especially for a manufacturing job, and for the area. I managed the engine department, and I DID work. Installing engines, overseeing other aspects of hull construction, and testing new engine/drive boat combos. (Was working on design of our first twin engine boat) That company went out of business. Without a degree, even higher end manufacturing jobs were harder to get. You need that little something extra to get you into the door, and that I believe is a degree. So I took some crap jobs to make ends meet. THIS IS THE BIGGEST REASON FOR GOING BACK TO SCHOOL=This may sound hokey, but after the wife and I became much more dedicated to living a christian life, I found myself distancing from the type of atmosphere I see in manufacturing jobs. Foul language, convicted felons, convicted sex offenders, filthy rest rooms including unmentionable writing on bathroom walls, METH addicts, the list goes on. I just don't care to be around that. NOT ALL MANUFACTURING JOBS ARE LIKE THIS. The boat company wasn't. But many are. In 5 years I'll be teaching. Not getting rich, but I'll be getting payed OK, in a much better enviroment, doing something I have wanted to do for some time, and have summers off.

The Effectiveness Of The Alabama Rig
It is a way to catch fish that is new. Guys are jumping all over it because they know if they don't everyone else will. And by the time they DO start using it, the fish will be getting used to it. Gotta cash in on the new technique before everybody and his brother puts it in front of every fish in the lake. It is so popular, that eventually it's effectiveness will start to taper off, once conditioning happens. And conditioning WILL happen. It can't NOT happen with the kind of popularity it has.

Kvd To Flw
When you have going on 6 mil in earnings, and sponsors that actually PAY and pay well, the offer he couldn't refuse would have to be through the roof.
-
Kvd To Flw
Wouldn't change my opinions about FLW. Guys from BASS go to FLW and do GREAT after doing just OK when with BASS. Regardless I like following FLW better. What they do pertains to what I do.

The Effectiveness Of The Alabama Rig
Right. The individual baits aren't going to cause much in the way of line twist. When I set them up I'll be using split ringed heads, with a quality swivel at the line tie to the rig itself. The RIG will twist your line. Not the individual baits. BUT I could be missing something. My thought process-those swimbaits don't really twist your line. They still shouldn't if you have several of them connected. Those baits are keel weighted, and I can't see them causing the entire rig to twist your line during the retrieve. However I can see the entire rig twisting your line, especially on the cast.

Any more feedback on these jerkbaits?

Kvd To Flw
He would dominate. Been there and done that. Bass would actually likely IMPROVE, because it would open up the compitition more. And having a name as big as KVD in FLW would help them too.. I only see positives.

Flipping And Jerkbait Line
7' MH is PLENTY of rod for pitching (I don't flip where I'm from). As long as 7' isn't to long for you working a jerkbait it's fine for that too. I use a 6'6 MH for jerkbaits. Your best bet if probably going to be 12lb YZ. Simply because it's break strength is going to be a good bit higher than 12lb. Pretty abrasion resistant line too-(though there is better in that department) I understand your position. If your faced with fishing with one rod for more than one technique or not fishing that technique at all your going to use the rod you have. I DON'T BLAME YOU.

The Effectiveness Of The Alabama Rig
Personally I can't wait to use it. Regardless of how I feel about it, I think it would be nuts to NOT cash in on this setup while it's hot and BEFORE every fish in the lake has seen it. And it's just a rig. Modifiy it. Make it your own. I see people all the time wanting to know exact snap/swivel sizes (which I contend you don't need ANY snap/swivels) exact line size, etc, etc.

Rigging A Pickup For Bass Fishing.
Pretty basic IMO. A hitch, and some dry lockable storage is all you need. Anything after that is because you can't leave things alone and have to modify them in some way (not saying that is a negative-I'm the same way )

Kvd 1.5 And 2.5 Crankbaits
Also should state that I haven't used these yet. I'm just basing this off the hooks on the ones I just picked up last week. They look nice and strong-upsized, and sticky sharp
-
Kvd 1.5 And 2.5 Crankbaits
I personally wouldn't change the stock hooks unless they need it. Those baits come with quality hooks as far as I'm concerned. I also like that the sizes are already upsized from the factory too.

Rigging A Loooooonnnggggggg Worm
Well by a little bit farther I just meant maybe 1/4" more into the worm...Again though, I don't think it's an issue. Bigger bass will eat it, and get the hook just fine. You might miss some dinks, but that is the point.
-
Slow Or Fast Fall Rate?
For me, I find a happy medium. A fast fall rate WILL MISS FISH. I just won't be convinced otherwise even if KVD told me. BUT a fast fall enables you to fish faster getting in front of more fish, getting more bites. I think in the end, they about even out. Fast fall=in front of more fish, but less of those fish bite. Slow fall=in front of less fish but more of those fish bite.
-
Rigging A Loooooonnnggggggg Worm
Use a bigger hook, and rig it a little farther into the worm. The rest the fish will take care of. I figure if a fish eats a worm that big, he is going to be big enough to EAT it. In other words, DINKS will eat a 7" worm, a 6lb'er should have no problem with the bigger worm.

Fishing Magazines
None currently just because they expired, and I haven't renewed. But mostly FLW. I think I'm going to subscribe to In-Fisherman. It's a good mag, that I would like to always have, but can't justify the newstand cost. It's a multi-species so keep that in mind. Bassin was always pretty good, but I'm not sure if it's even out there anymore.

What Really Grind Your Gears
Do scientists refer to the fish when using their common name as bluegill/sunfish, or as bream? People that put "S's" at the end of words when it makes no sense grinds my gears
