  1. Tail on those look like the cross tail shad
  2. Personally I think he should go to an in conference rival, and pumel the colts. They have done virtually nothing to surround him with any kind of talent. Marshal Faulk is the ONLY offensive talent he has ever had around him, and they traded him away when he was still in his prime. All these other guys Marvin Harrison, Peirre' Garcon, and others had the stats to be perceived as "good players" because Peyton was feeding them the ball. Just look at what the Colts are without him. I'd like to see him get at least another Superbowl win. A team that would be nuts not to pick him up is Minnesota. He would be able to jump in right away, has a good running game-exponentially better than he has ever had before, and Christian Ponder could use the mentoring.
  3. Stuff like that is enough to give a ND fan a Bo*er
  4. I'd have to say no. Looks nice but has to be exponentialy slower than dipping.
  5. Because as producers of that show, it should be there right to. And, as watchers of the show it should be our right to CHOOSE to watch it. And since you don't seem to like it, it SHOULD be YOUR CHOICE to NOT watch it. If his VERY short message at the end of the show can have 'THAT' much impact on anyone in a negative way, then those people have mood and information processing issues that go way beyond the content of a fishing show on television.
  6. Easy. 7' MH casting rod in F or XF. Specific model based on budget. 7' M spinning rod, F model based on budget. As for specifics? Not sure. I would have to search for the perfect rod to cover most bases. Spinning rod would probably be a Loomis mossyback 7'1 M XF. Baitcasting would probably be something similar.
  7. IMO there is nothing wrong with that. If that is how you feel so be it. Why shouldn't those who DO NOT feel that way have the right TO WATCH? Personally I really looked forward to that segment every episode.
  8. SIGH This just posted to Facebook by the Lindner media guys We received notice from NBC Sports regarding the inspirational message Al presents at the close of each program. The following is a quote from NBC Sports (formerly Versus) “Moving forward, NBC Sports Network will no longer allow any non-sports related content, such as religious content in their programs. Any religious references need to be removed entirely. This includes, but not limited to, on show opens or logos, graphics, animations or any references by talent or guests. This change goes into effect immediately.” Therefore, we have no choice but to remove this segment from our Angling Edge series. We have made the required adjustments and Angling Edge will air as scheduled. The inspirational message will remain part of Fishing Edge airing on numerous networks. Below is a link to the TV air schedule.
  9. It seems like the reels you use can make a difference. Me personally though, I've used 8lb YZ hybrid on spinning in the past and was more than happy with it. I'm switching to 6lb. Not because there was anything wrong with 8lb, but because it is that much smaller in diameter. And it's still strong, and doesn't break at 6lb
  10. It wasn't good enough becaue A) mine was only 45lbs thrust, the boat was likely much lighter and had a HUGE sail area, especially compared to a glass bass boat. EDIT, after seeing his boat specs, a 12v system should be MORE than enough.
  11. I'll toss in a vote for the 12v motor. DEPENDING on where you fish. A 16' boat should be able to get away with a 55lb motor. I wouldn't go with 45lb though. Then again I had a 16' deep V aluminum boat, and swapped to 24v after using the boat just a couple times. Ultimately it's your choice to make. If you are REALLY concerned about weight, borrow a battery and put it in the boat and take it out. If it works out OK, and you don't mind spending the money go 24v. Hard for other people to tell you how to spend your money. But in general, the biggest you can afford is always a good idea.
  12. Pull the reel apart, and clean up the anti reverse clutch bearing in the handle side plate
  13. Keep in mind that YZ has a pretty high break strength. That 6lb RW uses is more like 10lb or more line from other companies. BUT because the diameter is so small, it will be suceptable to abrasion.
  14. I think the Giants match up pretty well. Defense is playing well, and can get lots of pressure with just 4 guys. And Manning, and the offense can put points on the board which is going to be important against Brady. The biggest thing in favor of the Giants is that I think they will be able to run the ball against the pats. If that is the case, it will make Peyton's job that much easier. I haven't wanted someone to win the superbowl this much since the 07/08 season
  15. I hope not......I know one thing, you need a defense, AND an offense to play them. No matter how good your defense is you still need to put up points, and NY should be able to do that.
  16. Buying a made in USA rod isn't as hard as you would think..... A real is a different story. For me anyway. Their really hasn't been any reel produced in the US, in the past. So it's not like Shimano/Daiwa/Pure Fishing reels showed up and pulled business away from the US builders. Lures and even line on the other hand has. As I posted earlier though. LOTS of soft plastics are made in USA even from big brand companies like Strike King, and Berkley.
  17. SIGH. This is a discussion that really isn't fitting for a fishing forum, and I'm struggeling to keep my fingers/mouth closed
  18. Lots of soft plastics are made in the USA. Including from some big name manufacturers-Zoom, Yum, Strike King etc. The problem is finding hardbaits that are made in USA
  19. I use 8lb Y/Z and 10lb 100% Flouro. I prefer the 8lb YZ. Comparing the two, The 100% stretches less. That is the only advantage. Isn't managed as well on spinning gear, and isn't as strong as the 8lb. I feel the contact with the bait is the same (even though 100% is more dense) I'm going to be switching to 6lb YZ this coming season.
  20. For rod and reel??? Maybe a used Pro Qualifier, and a BPS Carbonlite, Falcon Buuco, Vendetta, etc, etc. No real experience with rods in that price range other than Falcon lowrider, and lowrider XG rods. Which have gone up quite a bit since I last bought one. Anytime you are fishing a contact bait, and on a budget, the fleamarket area of this site is going to be your friend.
  21. I've used 100% Flouro in 10lb on spinning gear, 8lb Viscous, 14lb 100%, and P-line Flouro...... To me, at least with these lower end lines, they are all pretty much the same. Personally, I'd be inclined to stick with the 100% for the time being. Because it isn't terribly expensive, works well, and is readily available. FWIW I hear good things about the BPS XPS, and it may even be made by one of the high end manufacturers.
  22. Go to your local wallmart. Ask 10 guys in the sporting goods department if they have ever heard of Powell rods. Now, if you have more than 2 or three say yes, I will give you everything I own.
  23. 3700 Plano with jigs, seperated by color and OZ. Only two weights for me. With one exception, but I only need a few of those-usually only in summer. All my trailers go in an old plano jig pouch thing that zips up. It's a soft side binder, with heavy zip lock bags. I put the original trailer bags in those bags. Two per binder bag. At this point I really only use two different trailers, in two different colors.
  24. I've pared down my selection a bunch. It just simplifies things a bunch IMO. One thing I will never do again, (and haven't for a few years) is buy things just because they are on sale. There are some colors that feel just do not work, and some I will never use. There is no point in buying this stuff just because it is cheap.
