I am want to get one of these for my crankbait rod but was wondering what one. Is the Chronarch really the same as the Curado and what gear ratio for crank baits. I am wondering if they are the same because I will get the Curado from ebay for $135.

The chronarch is a step up from the curado I believe.

I have a curado E and can vouch for it being a solid reel (i flip/pitch with it).

The new line of them (curado G) was down graded a bit and feels more like the citica E while the Chronarch G feels like the Curado E.

Anyways I would get the curado E or a chronarch G (similar) if that is your price range. If you can get the chronarch E thats pretty awesome.

I have always fished shimano but am looking to upgrade my cheaper/older shimano cruxis with an abu garcia winch on my crankbait rod.....just to confuse you more by throwing in another option hahahahah

They are pretty much the same reel. The E5 is what I'd use for diving cranks.

The only differences between the two are that the handle and spool on the Chronarch E series are both double anodized. Gear ratios are slightly different in the two as well, but they are, for all intents and purposes, the same reel. If you can find a Curado E series on the cheap, by all means grab one. If you hate the green, get a black and white.

J already mentioned that. Definitely go with the e5. As had already been mentioned, it's more of a presonal preference for you regarding the colors. If you hate green then the Chronarch is for you, if not save a bunch of money and get a Curado 200e5. Either way you'll be getting a great reel.

oh and sorry but 1 more question, is a 6'6 medium light rod fine for crank baits I bought it at bass pro today and don't want to buy another rod and bass pro is kinda far so I won't be able to return it.

Depends on what size cranks you are throwing.

What size would it be good for? Do you mean the weight of the cranks or the diving depth. The rod I have has 1/16-1/2 lure weight.

Both... heavy and deep diving cranks will overpower your new rod, but it should be fine with up to mid-depth cranks. Enjoy!

If I exchanged it for a medium would that be a better all around crank bait rod?

Look for a MH/Mod or Mod-Fast rod for over all crankbaiting. The ML power is too light.
