Heddon spooks or lc gunfish?

Featured Replies

Well I'm going fishing tomorrow morning and I just bought a lc gunfish. I cant wait to try it out, but what do you guys think would be the best topwater lure to try? Personaly my favorite topwater lure is the spook, but sometimes the spook doesnt work as well as some other topwater baits. What is your go to topwater lure?

The original spook is right up there on my list.  I like the way it sits and walks alot better as opposed to other baits like the sammy, never fished a gunfish.

What is your go to topwater lure?

I'd have to say that my go to topwater is the Spittin Image.  We can't say which is the best to try because we don't know a thing about the water you are fishing.  Too many unknown factors you know  :(

I like the tiny torpedo but some of the plastic frog fish weightless are starting to grow on me.

LOL. I too just bought my first gunfish and intend to try it out in the early morning. It took a lot to convince me to spend that much on a lure, but there are so many positive coments here.....

With some wind the gunfish really shines.  In calmer waters I have more confidence in the spook.

Spooks and skitter walks are great topwater baits when the bass want a somewhat more active topwater presentation. I love all topwater baits, but for me the one - two punch of a popper and a buzzbait catch 90% of my topwater bass. In low light and cloudy conditions they are almost always my go to lures.

The Gunfish is an awesome lure along with the LC Sammy.

I like the Gunfish even better than the Sammy. They're great when there is a chop on the water.
