Omc Trolling Motors

Featured Replies

Why don't they make them anymore? They are the best trolling motors built. They can take a beaten and just keep goin. I've owned all brands . Stumps killed my M-K and M-G shafts but the omc just keep goin.

Maybe because OMC went belly up and no one wanted that part of the industry. The boat companies went several places like Genmar and Bombardier bought out the motors.

I will have to agree about the trolling motors. I have one on my 96 Stratos. I am the third owner and I told my wife I wont spend money on a new trolling motor until the OMC factory one dies. Well, 16 years old and it is still running like a champ. I have replaced the prop once. Darn thing is like a tank. I just cant justify dropping $700-1400 when it is still working fine.

My first omc was on a buddy's ranger for 10+ yrs before I put another 6 on it. Found one on eBay that has been in service now for 5 and I have another in the closet! 12/24 56lb thrust, light and quiet, perfect for a jon boat.

That is the same model I have. built to last.....

I purchased the props for about $25 a piece online but I dont remember the website. I probably should have purchased two for that price.
