I went to the website for Ethanol free gas but found no station that I was looking for my gas motor. I live Bowling Green and wondering where will my closest gas station may be? I haven't seen nothing near by on the site and wonder is there any in Caroline, Ashland, Fredericksburg, Port Royal, King George, Spotsylvania, Stafford area? Hopefully closer like in Caroline or even Fredericksburg. Thanks!

Buy and install a water separator/filter rather than trying to find ethanol free gas. Just MHO. It's alot easier than driving around looking for ethanol-free gas (questionable); vendors of which may not even exist near you.

Yea I'm going to look into those separator just not but will out how to rig for my outboard 7.5hp motor. I did get a cheap fuel filter today. Do you know the law far metal gas tanks here in va? I have a 6 gallon but not sure of law on them? My only plastic tank is 12gal not trying to use that on a Jon boat.

If you are talking about a "portable" OB, for that size motor I would not use anything but a 3 gal plastic tank. Should be ~ $40. Just rig the water separator between the primer bulb and tank.

You can just use an additive also, there are several to choose from, the one I use is formulated from rude specificly for ethanol treatment.

It is a much simpler way to treat the fuel and less expencive, but a filter as mudkart suggested is a much more effective way to go.

When it comes to the additives how will that apply or affect 2 stroke engines, mix tanks, and lines?

They are the exact same for 2 stroke engines( Reguarding gas). Only difference is adding the oil in a 2 stroke. My yamaha dealer recommends running RING-FREE (helps with carbon and other build up) in all yamaha and mercury engines, as well as some sort of marine stabil. He said put them in every tank. I also use a large fuel filer and change it every year. If you use your boat a ton, twice a year. I have been spoiled with 4 strokes and oil reservoirs on two strokes, but nope looks like we are ALL BACK to measuring cups at the gas station for these additives... LOL.

He was explaining to me that some gas tanks have had reports of ethanol up to 20%........ It really makes you wonder tho how consistant these tanks are... I mean think about it. How many pumps do you go to were all 3 grades of gas come out of the same nozzle? Makes you wonder what grade/octane you are really getting....

Ive been doing this ever since my Yamaha 150 VMAX blew up on on me, because of carbon build up in the cylinders......looked like the positons went in a garbage disposal! It woulda been 6500 to rebuild the powerhead, I just sold the boat as a loss with the blown motor

if you fish any lakes that have marinas, they may have ethanol free gas. atleast i know the one i go to on Smith Mtn Lake does...

also, i hear they exist, but i have never seen a regular gas station with ethanol free gas since everything changed over...

You think should be wise for my Johnson 7.5? I did install a fuel filter I got from Walmart above my primer pump going towards motor. Is those any good as fuel filters the one you buy in the marine aisle at Walmart? Also about Addie additives to 2 stroke engines do you stay with the mixture of oil recommended for your motor along with adding the additives?

Whooooo I think you are a little confused buddy.

All you need is your fuel mix as normal, then a couple oz of ethanol treatment, instructions are on the bottle as to how much you should add, thats all.

Every other tank it won't hurt to run a few oz of seafoam or something of that nature to keep the carbon knocked down, although if you are running regular 87 octane carbon will be less of an issue and in that case you don't need to treat it as often for carbon issues maybe every 5th tank or so.

Oh by the way the filter should go in line before the primer, that way any dirt will get trapped before it reaches the valve, not to worry though the system you have should not create much dirt since your tanks are going to be real easy to get to and keep clean.

Another guy I was talking to as at Bass Pro was telling me another of another way to be sure of motor is to pull the gas line off and let the motor run out the remaining gas. Ever heard of that? On another note I can't believe the prices of the plastic tanks and rimer hoses. For my bigger boat I paid $60 just for it's 12 gallon maybe 6-7 years ago. Now the 6 gallon range in the price range WOW! Cheapest primer line I found was $35 I think on sale at Bass Pro yesterday. Hopefully mine still good, knock on wood!

Don't do that, it will only leave the setiment to dry out in the carb, nothing but problems come spring, as long as you have the sta-bil or seafoam in the system you will be fine.
