Flourocarbon/flourocarbon Coated

Featured Replies

I have been using the P-Line CX Flourocarbon coated line for a little while now, at first I didn't have much trouble with it but now it seems like every knot I tie it breaks at the knot. I have also had it break above the knot. The line that keeps breaking is only a week or two old. What other types of flourocarbon line do you all think are the best out there that don't break the bank. I like P-Line for the cost but wanting to try some new lines. Also how often does line need to be changed? Thanks!

Bass Pro flouro is pretty strong stuff

Bass Pro makes a nice Fluoro for a decent price, but my heart is with Seagaur for now, I just really love their fluorcarbon lines.

If you want an exceptionally good line for not a lot of money, look into Yo Zuri Hybrid. It's a great line on the cheap. If you want a pure fluorocarbon, Seaguar is the only way to go.

p line floroclear. i have it in 12lb and 20lb for finessse jigs and casting/flipping jigs. ive never had any issues with breakage or abrasion. i use the polomar knot for it and never had any issues. its good priced for a 300yd spool.

I've "heard" that seaguar makes bass pro fluoro.

I think they make cabela's or at least the last time I heard. If you look at a package of Invizx and Cabela's house fc line, they are eeriely similar.

I use P-line 100% Flourocarbon for most of my setups. I don't have any issues with the line as long as I use KVD Line and Lure Conditioner. To ofset the cost of the pure flourocarbon I spool the reel 1/2 way with filler line than place electrical tape over the filler. I than tie on and fill the spool to about an 1/16th inch from the top of the spool. I can usually get 2 if not 3 reels out of a 200yd filler spool which really cuts the cost in 1/2. I change my flouro every three weeks but rarely does that happen as I fish alot of tournaments and respool before every tournament day.
