Rm Or Dvt Question On Anti-Reverse

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Just cleaned one of my reels (Lews BB 1NG) and after putting it back together I am having intermittent fouling of the anti-reverse. It will work 4 or 5 times in a row and then it will allow me to turn the handle backwards for about 2 turns before it catches again. Please give specific details so I can quit driving myself crazy.

Thanks for help.

You need to go back into the reel and adjust the anti-reverse claw ref# 53 on our schematic.

Adjust the blades tight to the rachet gear assembly, then re-adjust the blades a hair looser, so that the claw will be pulled down with the slightest reverse movement, the reel will feel slightly tight but this is the proper adjustment for the reel. As you re-assemble check the reels ability to stop the reverse of the handle, and make adjustment accordingly.

Always have your reels schematic on hand.............

Thanks RM. It worked. I just didn't have the claw tight enough. I appreciate your help.
