Im thinking about getting this combo, I'm still in college and don't have all the money in the world so i could buy what i really want, but i recently received a credit to amazon for 110 bucks from trading in books to them, i know I've heard bad stuff about there shipping services for fishing stuff, but i don't have a choice, i was wondering has anyone ever used this combo?? i have heard mixed reviews about the setup and just want some honest feedback/advice, thanks guys

MSRP on the Orra reel is $99 so you could say you get the rod free. The Orra has a metal frame and decent bearings in the critical places which are the two main factors to look for. If you weren't locked into amazon I'd say the BPS PQ on sale has more features but you could do worse than the amazon deal. If you don't like the rod you can save up to upgrade it.

you make a very good point, the rod might be just an ok rod, but the reel seems to be getting some good reviews, thanks for your help, anyone else have or have used this rod and reel combo before?

I don't have this particular Abu combo but I do have a Revo S. The Orra is pretty similar to the Revo, it shares the same Centrifugal Braking system. I like the Revo S pretty well.

I am not sure what Rod is in this combo but I have one of the old Model Abu Vengeance Rods in a 6'3 Medium. It is their entry level Rod but it is not really bad at all for a cheaper Rod. If the combo Rod is on level with it you are getting a good price on the combo and like Delaware Valley Tackle said with the Orra MSRP of $99 you are getting the Rod for next to nothing. You can upgrade the Rod later if it doesn't work out for you.

id say go for it. i know how sucky it is to want a particular rod and reel but lack the cash to get it. i have the orra and ive got nothin but good to say about it really. its never given me an issue and its pretty smooth and casts great. as for the rod, idk, ive never used it but ive handled that particular combo and the rod doesnt feel bad, who knows, you might be surprised but youll never know unless u get it.
