I have a question for those that pour plastics. How much hardener do you add to your plastics? I know it is probably a personal preference to the hardness of the bait, but will a little do it or does it need to be mixed 50/50 to be effective? Just curious. I will do some playing around to see how much of a difference it makes. Start with a little and move on from there. I know you can always add, but you cannot take out. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I very seldom use any hardener. I'm much more likely to add softener to my plastic. I have found that adding a teaspoon of hardener to a cup makes a difference. I have found that adding hardener makes my plastic more likely to overheat in the micro. I use LC's soft plastic. Other brands might react differently. Might I ask why you want to add hardener?

For me it reacts about like softener. Just the other way. LOL I typically go by the cup or 1/2 cup on my formulas. So if I actually use it which is rare I start out with a teaspoon.

The reason I want to use the hardener is because I have a fluke type bait that is a little too soft for my liking. I wanted to firm it up a bit. So it sounds like a little goes a long way. Thank you for the responses!

Is it a top pour or injection? Add salt to it to get it to fall faster like a senko. That will stiffen it up some too.

If its a top pour just pour the belly section with salt and leave the top soft for the tail action. I wouldnt use the hardener.

It is an injection mold. I have not made any of those with salt added yet. I will try the salt and see if that helps. Thanks again guys!
