What Would You Do In These Conditions?

Featured Replies

high 50's for air temperature. A little color in the water. Water temp around 49. Winds from the south around 10 mph. Would you go shallow in search for fish moving up, or stay deep? Also what would you throw?

windblow banks, bluff banks, bluff banks with channel swings, backside of points , end of points, flip shallow trees, drag gravel bars.

really anywhere. at those temps fish could be in both shallow and deep. I would think they are for sure on the "highway migation routes" they use to possibly really start moving up.

Stay in deep water that goes shallow farley quick...or vise versa.

Try to find flats and or a creek channel that goes shallow.

Lures: Deep diving cranks;color: crawfish red or brown.

Jig drop offs or off of structure.

no doubt youll have to go shallow for any chance of catching them.... if water is cloudly/murky fish will be holding tight to stumps logs docks that sort of stuff. it almost has to be sunny and murky water warms much quicker than clear water so fish will began to get active in the shallows. an afternoon bite will be much more productive than a early morning..... i would target wood with either a redeye shad or a squarebill crank to get the shallow nonactive bass to react... try a red eye shad in a gold or chrome color and a stike king 1.5 in a chartause should do the trick... if you still dont have luck maybe try slowing down and going with a black and blue jig or maybe a zoom baby brush hog and keep it in the strike zone.. also pay attention to surrounding water... look for baitfish activity.
