Rattles in Tube lures

Featured Replies

What is the best way to secure a rattle inside a tube lure? And at the same time, what are the best rattles for this application?

I have been using the Strike King rattles that you run over the hook, then stuff inside the tube. But with a fish on it can be shaken free and lost forever.  So my next move is to set it up, then put a dab of superglue on the rattle to hold it to the tube.

Anyone have a better way or thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Steve

@Koopa Were do you buy those and how much ? I just started using tubes the other day and I was very impressed they're one of my new fav baits.

BassShephard: look at the background in the picture.  Now, once you've done that, put your hand 14 inches in front of your forehead, palm out.  Turn it around, and give your forehead a nice whacking.  DUH!  No, I was just kidding, it seemed pretty obvious, though.

You could also just buy Storm Rattle Tubes.

Those are exactly what I was telling my buddy about the other day, but I didn't know they actually made them. A bit pricey, but they look great.

Thanks

Steve

Try the XPS tube rattles. They stay in the tube pretty good for me and they are cheap.

Where is a good place to get the XPS?

Got a link?

Steve

XPS means Bass Pro

Rattles are a must.  I use the large glass tube rattles.  Just shove the rattle up in the tube, and texas rig it normally.  The hook going through the middle of the tube keeps the rattle from coming out.

I fish the BPS XPS weedless tube jig heads with the renegade rattles from walmart.  They aren't as good as glass rattles but are cheap and disposable.
