that really is an incredible deal... 6 tungsten weights for 99 cents?  Though these are not completely tungsten they are a composite mixture of tungsten and plastic.  The weights end up being the same size as lead weights.

I agree. I think the package actually says hybrids. They have a very different feel. A great deal though at .99!

I've heard that tungsten sinkers are 10X more toxic than lead? Can anyone confirm or rebut? If true, I wonder how long before the EPA cracks down on these, like they have with lead!

These are not very good sinkers, they are not hard, they are soft they can absorb scent. Just my .02

I'd heard that Tungsten itself can be toxic, but the sinkers are made of a tungsten nickel alloy that is completely inert.

And yeah, the Yum weights do suck.

;D

i posted about these a while back i think. i thought i found a good deal as well untill i heard about them being soft.

Glad I waited to before I ordered some of these....Thanks for the heads up on them...saved me money and being disappointed...

Thanks

G

I didn't read close and ordered a bunch of these a few months back. They work, BUT ......... they are the same size as a lead weight and they are soft, it actually feels like they are covered in rubber or plastic, I can pinch the large end totally distorting the shape and it pops right back into place. Not sure if they absorb scent but each pack did come with a small tube of yum attractant. I also ordered some  real tungsten weights (5/8 ounce I think) there were 2 in a pack for around a dollar - this was a smokin hot deal and I have been carolina rigging with them ever since.

That is a good deal on tungsten. I have not used any tungsten yet because of the price. I just can't make myself pay $3 a piece for weights when I can walk two feet down the row and get lead at a quarter of that price. One of these days the bait monkey will get to me though...
