Next Rod

I currently have a 7" MH/F veritas casting, and a 7" ML/F st croix triumph spinning setups.

Looking to get 1 more casting setup. Should I get a M/M or a MH/M?

what techniques are you planning to use it for?

What baits do you use the most that require a moderate action? Look for a M or MH that covers the 1/4 to 3/4oz range, I used both because some manufacturers call that medium while others call it medium heavy, anyway that will cover most of what you need. Now if the rod you want is rated 1/4 to 1/2 or 5/8 then you need to ask yourself what are the weights of the lures you throw most that requires a moderate action and then base the rod off the answer.

I was thinking moderate action for all things treble hook. I think I remember roadwarrior saying as such a while back.

The moderate action would be good for tremble hook baits, as for m or mh its a matter of what size baits you will be throwing on it.

If its for smaller baits and you decide on a m/m reel selection will be important too. Some baitcasters are better at throwing lighter baits then others.

Yup, MH/Mod casting. From there you can start getting technique specific if you choose.

Thanks guys. I think I'll be getting a MH/M once I can find a decent deal :)

I currently throw a Lews SS almost exclusively, but am going to be getting a Lews TP SS here very soon for the new pole!
