Sports Authority is having a 50% off sale on many fishing items. just Purchased 2 shimano baitcaster/rod combos and 2 shimano spinning/rod combos, and an anchor for under $100!!! (each reel alone sold for $59.95 normally!!) check out your local store.

thanks i just got some good deals at dicks sporting goods today no more money till next week then ill check them out hahah

I'm getting the Quantum TE HPT100 @ Dicks today!! Its basically the KVD Quantum touring reel without his name on it, it sold new for around $350, then went down to $250, then went on clearance. Since theres only 2 left & the manager of the store (where I spend my every dollar) is buying one, he's giving me the last one for $93!!! Just in time for my first tournament next week too!

Love it when deals like that happen!!! Nice!!

Yea it was a sweet deal, when I got there the manager was trying to sell me one of the new G. Loomis rods, its was a really nice combo but I didn't have the money for both, I picked up a Carrot Stix Wild instead. When I got home I put the Quantum TE HPT100 on my St. Croix Rage rod & put my Smoke PT SL100 on the Carrot Stix.

I went to Sports Authority later that day & got a brand new $80 life vest for $40! I got some lures that they don't sell anywhere else around here too, thanks for the tip off.

The SA's around here have gotten rid of the majority of their fishing gear and now only carry cheap combos, a small selection of Bomber and Rapala cranks, Eagle Claw hooks, and about 8 different bags of Zoom plastics. That's it.

The SA around here did away with the fishing departments all together. I see Ollie's bought 4.2 million dollars of inventory from SA and are running it at 33% off. You have to watch the prices though, they have raised some above BPS prices, so the discount is more like 15% on a lot of items.

The s/a around here have shrunk their fishing departments. I stop in there once in while for Wahoo jigs, I like that brand and they are hard to find. They still carry redbone rods, and sometimes discount them well, since Southbend has taken over redbone there is no more over the counter warranty. I haven't had a problem with those rods, but it isn't worth the trouble to send a $100 rod in for warranty, especially if you only paid $50 for it in the first place.
