River2Sea Step Wa Frog

I bought a couple of these on the recommendation of some so-called friends  >;)  :(.  Anyone else think these are just a bit tempermental?

I threw them across grass and found they have no action in the grass.  You have to retrieve them slowly in open water to get them to walk.  If you retrieve them even a little too fast, they loose their action.  And they go under water very easily and then spin around.

Pretty lures, though.

Yeah I made that mistake about two years ago.  I got it because I thought it would be a great bait to use at night where I could just toss it on the bank and then reel it in.  Well like you said you have to retrieve that bait VERY slow to get the jitterbug action out of it.  Plus it doesn't have a Gamakatsu like the the regular sized Bully Wa, mine had a dull knock off version.

I hated mine as well! I only use the Croaker 65 now. Now those are some amazing frogs!!

i got one aswell. i thought cool its like a weedless jitterbug. wrong i have found it has to pretty much be fished in perfect condition  still water no wind etc real slow or it dives and spins in circles it may work better with a solid bill

I found that when I used braid, a heavy rod and used a quick connect clip that I had better action with it. The way you hold the rod changes the action a lot to. I had to keep it up at about 10 o'clock to get it to work right. If you real it in to quick it will also go underwater. My daughter was realing it in real slow with a pause every 3 or 4 feet and had at least a 4 pounder slam it when nothing else was working that day including my Spros. She had the white tied on. It was her first time fishing so she didn't set the hook in time after he went under with it. I have taken mine out a few times. On a clear calm day they worked great. When water conditions was choppy it's not even worth tying on. I have had no problem going through grass with mine.
