Ul Reel

Featured Replies

Rrying to find a decent family affordable reel. Like to spend around $50-$100. I need something to get me started to make sure I like UL before I spend $$ on better gear.

I'd get a Shimano in a 500 or 750 size. If it were me I'd go with a Sedona 750. I've got a couple of them and they are great little reels and don't break the bank.

I'm assuming you're talking about spinning gear. I have 2 abu garcia cardinal 101s and a shimano cx 1000. The abu's can be had anywhere for about $30-40 all day long and cast smoothly for the price and have held up for years with maintenance and care. The shimano has a rear drag, which I really like since I fish mostly in rivers and streams, and hate trying to adjust the drag on the spool when fighting a fish.
