I was out there this morning fishing a frog just after the overpass of the northway. I had a bite on my first cast fishing the heavy weed bed, but the sucker took me under a fallen tree and got off. A few cast later I had a decent strike but got anxious and tried setting the hook too fast and missed.

I plan on going back maybe tomorrow morning in hopes to actually land my first one of the season.

Has anyone else had any luck in the Capital District yet this year?

If there's weeds and fish hitting frogs already the bite must be turning on. The weather sure can't hurt. I hav family in the area and hope to do some fishing up there soon.
