Vibe Shearwater vs Jonny Bass 100
Can you show how you modified it for a foot throttle? That is one mod I want to add, I just added the rudder system so I don't need to stick steer and the foot throttle would complete the whole thing! Thanks in advance

Maryland's Who's who!
Looking into getting more into Bass fishing this spring in the Williamsport area. Never owned a boat before but that Tracker Heritage deal is quite legit. Would it do well in the upper Potomac? Also, I don’t have a proper storage place for one so wasn’t sure if Potomac Fish and Game store boats and what kind of cost that would be. Just tired of shore fishing

Maryland's Who's who!
Dramer, I caught that large mouth up in Saratoga, NY last summer fishing with a guide service. I have been out mostly on the river with some buddies on their boats and shore fish at Greenbrier and that other one in Clear Spring (can't think of the name). I even drove out to Codorus St. Park once and did some fishing there. Never made it to Black Hills because its a hike but I am planning a trip at some point this Spring during spawn season.

Maryland's Who's who!
well I have been reading up on the habits of bass, where to look and when, but there really isn't a good way to learn about proper presentation with seeing it in person. So I am mostly looking for guidance in that.

Maryland's Who's who!
Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you offer lessons on weekends? I moved down to the Hagerstown area last spring and did quite a bit of smallie fishing in the river with some buddies. The problem is I never catch anything and really do not have anyone willing to teach me more. I never fished growing up and didn't get into it until about a year ago. I would like to be able to hold my own on our trips but I am completely clueless. I am willing to pay and drive up to 2 hours away if necessary.

Jon Boat Mod
I am wondering if anyone knows of someone in the Franklin Co. PA area or Washington Co. MD area that modifies Jon boats? I have an 11ft alumacraft that I want to convert.

Maryland's Who's who!
Guys, I was wondering if anyone knew of someone trying to unload a boat for around $2,000. I had lined one up but he is dragging his feet and it was such a great deal I am finding it hard to find anything similar. I really just want something capable of going out on lakes and the river that will hold 3-4 people. Just as an FYI I had lined up a 1990 17ft Astroglass, with 110HP outboard, 55lb Trolling motor and trailer for $2,000. So as you can imagine my standards are high

Initial Boat Fees For Pa
Can anyway help me out with this? I am going to be purchasing a boat and trailer from a guy in MD. I have looked all over the web and can't find out exactly what fees I am going to be hit with after the initial purchase. I know I need insurance, and have to take the boating license course. What am I looking at to get the title and registration for the trailer? and same for the boat? Thank you for any info you can provide.

Maryland's Who's who!
Hey guys, I got a chance to get out to Greenbrier yesterday evening. Spent about two hours throwing lipless cranks and plastics but came up empty handed. Still looking for a chance to get out on the boat so I can get on the board this season.

Waynesboro, Pa Area
Does anyone know any good spots around Waynesboro, Greencastle area? I already have a list for Washington County MD, but I live in Waynesboro and just looking for some quick stops in the mornings before work. Right now I will just be fishing from shore but the boat is coming towards the end of May. Thank you!

Maryland's Who's who!
Basser89 - Thank you for the directions. I will definitely be posting my adventures through out the spring and summer. Since I am currently in NY, I haven't been out much (too cold) but I am stocked and ready to go once I arrive in the MD area!

Maryland's Who's who!
I have been reading a lot about Black Hills on this forum. I move into Waynesboro this weekend and want to get out fishing in two weeks. How do I get there? Is it a good shore fishing spot, because I don't have a boat yet although it is on the agenda to purchase in a month or so?

Six Mile Water Works Albany, Ny
I was out there this morning fishing a frog just after the overpass of the northway. I had a bite on my first cast fishing the heavy weed bed, but the sucker took me under a fallen tree and got off. A few cast later I had a decent strike but got anxious and tried setting the hook too fast and missed. I plan on going back maybe tomorrow morning in hopes to actually land my first one of the season. Has anyone else had any luck in the Capital District yet this year?

Hudson River, Albany Ny
I am planning on heading out to Peebles Island just outside Waterford tomorrow morning to do some fishing. Any chance there will be some active bass? Also, I have never been there before so if anyone knows of a good shore fishing spot please let me know! Thanks!

Braid Backlash?
Thanks for the tips guys, after working it for about 30 minutes I was able to get it out. I don't think I had it tight enough to begin with. CrookedNeck do you use the aeresol one or the non aeresol bottle of Reel Magic?

Braid Backlash?
Guys I got a pretty bad backlash with a braided line this weekend. It was my first time using braid, I usually just use Fluoro and have no problems getting them out with the thumb trick. For some odd reason it just isn't working with the braid, any idea's so I don't need to cut the line out?

Baitcaster Oil Or Grease?
So I picked up a used baitcaster on ebay and it definitely needs some maintenance. The guy at DSG sold me the Berkley Oil and Grease kit and said it should take care of the problem. My only question is, which do I use on it? I have never done this before and I looked up videos online so I know how to take the thing apart. But do I use the grease or the oil on it? Or both? Thank you in advance, because it is 60 degrees and sunny today, very unusual for upstate NY!

Tackle Setup For Newbie
Thank you guys for the advice. I am definitely looking forward to the weather change, although today we got 5 inches of snow here. DEEP - Is there a difference in the polarized glasses? Why are some $200 and others $30? Also, do you guys recommend using braid with a flurocarbon leader? I know it is harder to cast but I have been practicing with it and if it is more difficult shouldn't I be just fine when I switch to another type?

Tackle Setup For Newbie
OK, so I started to take up bass fishing last summer in my free time and even went out with a guide once. I am totally hooked now and want to be well prepared for this spring with everything I need. Here is what I have accumulated in a year of shopping and friends giving me stuff: 6.6 Abu Garcia med/heav spinning rod with some random spinning reel 6.6 ugly stick med casting rod with BPS Tournament casting reel 14lb berkley mono 40lb spider braid 8lb fluro KVD Sexy Frog 4 random top water plugs White deep diving crank Sexy Shad 1.5 crank Red 1.5 crank 3 jigs all same size different colors though black rattle bait some tubes a lot of weights and hooks different sizes Havoc 3" green pumpkin deuce pack Havoc 4" black/blue craw fatty pack Yum brown creature pack Yum watermelon doozy 8" pack Yum black doozy 8" pack 6 different packs of Yamamoto Senkos, different sizes My question is, what are some things I am missing. Besides a boat which is priority number one and I am closing in on that. I tried watching the shows and reading the magazines but I get lost in a sea of products. I would like to have some spinners, but have no idea what direction to go. Should I get rattling cranks or no? Lipless, square bill, colors? Polarized glasses, reel grease, attractants? It is so overwhelming. Please help!

Maryland's Who's who!
Basser89, Thank you for the tips. I am looking forward to getting down there and testing the waters. I actually have a buddy who says he know's a guy looking to sell a 17ft boat with trolley, trailer and 2 live wells for $2K. I am waiting on more info but I am leaning towards it because I trust my buddy. My other option was to mod my own 14ft Jon, I just don't think I will have the time to get it done before Mid-March and I don't want to waste any of the season.

Maryland's Who's who!
I am moving to Hagerstown MD in about 4 weeks and was wondering if you could point me in a direction of good fishing locations for largemouth? I don't currently have a boat, but will look for one once I move down. I need to see what kind of waters I can fish to determine what boat I need. Unless you guys have suggestions for that?
