Anytime we have a post asking, what is your favorite, (fill in the blank), I find my answer has changed. Example, if you had asked me 2 months ago what is your favorite baitcaster, I would have said Lews, I have 6 of em. Ask me the same question today, and I would say my new Chronarchs, 2, 200E's, and 1, 50E. Do I think they are better than my Lews? Of course not. They are simply the newest ones. The last ones I have purchased of nearly anything, reel, rod, lure, whatever, tends to be my favorite for a while....till the next new thing comes along. I guess I am a confirmed tackle junkie. Anyone else like that?

I'm a huge tackle junkie too, but I like to stick with what I know. I was in the market for a new bait cast reel, and was dead set on the Revo SX. I knew the gen 3s were hitting soon, but I've had the pleasure of using the gen 2 quite a few times since my girlfriend has one, and just had to go with the gen 2. I don't necessarily believe that newer is better, as companies will put out an amazing product one year, only to cheapen it the next.

I'm definitely a tackle junkie. I also fall into the newest is my favorite category. This time though it may last a while. I got an 893 nrx its only about two weeks old but its really unbelievable. I use it football jigs and love it gota 51/2 lb on it this weekend that I really believe was a result of the rods sensitivity.

I've had that experience before with new tackle. It could just be the kid in us. We never really grow up, we just get into more expensive toys.

Not for me, I've had my Daiwa Fuego for some time now, a 2005 reel, and used to have a SOL before it was stolen. They were discontinued, but were my favorite reels compared to my newer stuff like Curado's, and some BPS reels, etc.

As far as when I get a new product, it does get a bit more use even when it's not warranted, but I want to try out my new product to get a good feel for it. Using it more doesn't make it my favorite.

That's it SS, variety. Some of us like things constantly changing, some like changes in certain things, and some can't accept changes of any kind. But that's okay,
I remember a line from an old rock song back in the70's that says, '' now wouldn't it be a real drag if we were all the same''.
