Gates are open again. TVA is running 91,000 cfs through the weekend and Monday.

I expect the fishing to be great.

My partner and I have a new trick up our sleeves, stay tuned!

I know what that trick is, Good luck and watch out I may be there also. Buddy of mine from Middle Tn is going. But we will be after Sauger and a couple of Big Blues.
R/W I hope within the next 2 weeks I have a bait I want you to try out. Just let me know when your going to be over this way. And we will go fish and pass this along to you to try also.

I'll be on the river most Saturdays, but you don't need another lure, you just need to fish with me sometime.

We're killin' 'em right now, both with live bait and artificials. Last weekend by buddies had a "five best" bag
of 27 lbs fishing artificials only. My boat wasn't close to that, but we still boated a lot of fish and several nice
ones. The river is on fire!

I hope to get to fish with you a few times soon. Plus I think it may be time to go to the islands in the lake and hunt for a big boy there also.

The big one got away!

My buddy had a monster on in the deep pool under the power lines. We got caught between a rock and and a hard spot as we were screaming towards the jetty. As we tried to manuever out, the fat girl dove under the boat and was gone! Otherwise, we caught some good fish, both brown & green. Good day had by all.

p.s. We both tried fishing an Alabama Rig. I fished a shallow presentation for a drift without a strike. Later, in deeper water along the channel, we both fed the rocks in short order. Overall, it was a bust.

RW - do you ever fish the Harpeth river in Middle TN? I may be heading out there this Sunday, hoping for some nice smallmouth. I've been on this river plenty of times, but never in the winter. I plan on bringing some small jigs and grubs. I have some new rage tail craws I'm dying to try out, finally bought a pack.

It's a good river to take a canoe or kayak out on. It has a good variety of fish. Largemouth, smallmouth, panfish, gar, catfish, etc. The place we go is called The Narrows of the Harpeth. It's a state park.

RW it was a good day ! The weather could have been better and we could have caught some more brown fish, but I had good company on a beautiful river. What more could a man ask for ? Ok, I would ask to see that fish that broke my line, but nothing other than that ! I really thought we would tear the brown fish up after catching 4 largemouth in the first few casts, but it didn't happen. I have learned a lot fishing with you, made a new friend for life and look forward to our next trip ! But, I am not fishing in the cold rain again so let's make sure the next trip is guaranteed sunshine !!

Shoot it was not cold yesterday, I was on the water about 9 hours total. But I did have the Artic Armour on with pants and a T Shirt.
R/W be careful of that spot, Its caugh a few boats in the high water. Sure not a fun spot when it sneaks up on you.
Also I think I may sneek back to the dam Friday and try for some Brown fish.
