  1. Sorry I had to miss this one. But had to go to east tn with my wife. She tried to get it changed to this weekend. But everyone else has other things to do. So I had to go and sit through 2 Dinners and a baseball game. But being it was for her work. I felt that I needed to be there for her. She did get a raise out of it. Pete
  2. Wish I could make the trip. But my back right now is keeping me from fishing around home. But I will fish that lake some day soon. Pete
  3. IF we fish here does that still count? We might be able to beat his ace up the sleeve. If my stinking back will get better.
  4. If you want to bring it over the week before. Your more then welcome to back in the shed here at the house. I'm east of Selmer Tn on off Hwy 64 right before you get to Adamsville. 25 miles to the dam. I will pull my camper to the campground. Then run back and get my boat. What site did you get? Thinking your staying in the state park campground? Some are usable, if your camper is not that long. Some are tough to get into. When trying to get my Daughters 36ft 5th wheel into one 2 years ago. It was not going in. The back hit before even starting up the grade to the site. Pete
  5. I have my Terrova mounted that way now. Pull the u shaped pin and lay it in the boat. Problem solved.
  6. Hard to beat my 1825 Pro Guide Tiller Lund. Open floor plan and plenty of room. Petre I fish for catfish, Crappie, Stripers, Sauger and bass. Works for all of other then flipping for bass.
  7. Go to a place that sells hitches. Buy you a 18" Stinger, this move's your boat back 18" Ultra-Tow Hitch Extenders — 2in. x 18in. But now I have a topper on my old truck. I use the same rope setup that I have been using for the last 30 years. Window weight turned into an anchor. Hang it down on front of trailer. Loop rope over the trolling motor. When I back up the rope feeds out. I get out and toss the anchor to the bank. Or move it to the dock. Soon I will be using the Auto deploy Trolling motor. Turn it on back in and deploy with remote. Then hit spot lock. LOL
  8. Sad part is fuel and oil is not the bad part of owning a boat. I would hate to figure out what I have per pound in fish. LOL Told my wife one time that Crappie we had for dinner only cost us $400. Pete
  9. WOW if there good in the upper 40's. We should be golden here in West Tn. Water temps are around 55 or so now. I know that's mean of me. But winter we have not had.
  10. Dual console, fishing package, 3 bank charger, Evinrude 150 G2, and I'm sure a few more things.. They quoted $35,780. Pete
  11. Wondering if anyone owns the RT198? Like the looks of these, and went and looked at one. They had a 115 4 stroke on it. I priced it out with a 150 G2 HO Dual console, Coin box in the center rather than the center seat. Minn Kota auto stow and deploy . Wanted the 112 lb thrust, but was told could not fit the extra batter. Also wanted a dual axle trailer. Again no can do, along with no hot foot from the factory. But they can cut up the panel where the hot foot would go and fit one in there. Evinrude G2 150 has fly by wire foot peddle like the new cars. So should not be an issue. Told them no electronics, as I would mount my own Helix 10 SI and 12 Si on it. After getting quoted the price. Not sure it will ever happen. Pete
  12. I own a lund, and a Lund tiller boat at that. You will not find anything more stable than these Deep V boats. Now there slow mine wide open is only around 35 MPH. RW has fished out of it. He can tell you how stable these boat are. right at 19ft long and 95" wide I think that is the width. 1825 Pro Guide Tiller. I have a 90 Etec on it, but if I keep this boat. Theres going to be a new 115 mounted on it by next year. Pete
  13. Way to go, I fished out of one of those years ago. Always enjoyed it. Pete
  14. Be sure what model your going to buy. The older unit can't be connected to others. But he new 7's can be hooked up to the bigger models. I have a Helix 10 SI and love it, and was going to buy a second 10DI for the front. But may go with the new 7 as it will allow me to link it to the 10 and my trolling motor. Only issue is the 7 and even 9's are nothing like the HD 10 and 12 units. I had one of the first SI units 987c SI for years. This 10 is so far advanced from that its unreal. Can't help you out on how it compares to others. As I have only ran Humminbirds the last 30+ years. Pete
  15. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. I have this won, and then me and RW will fish out of a new boat until its beat to death.
  16. Went to Yellow creek yesterday. Was looking to catch Dinner tomorrow. So was crappie fishing, single poling. Targeting brush piles, Single stumps would mark them on the Side Imaging and then go back and hit them with a Ky rig or for the younger bunch a Drop Shot rig. Caught dinner, along with a few bass and yellow bass. Hooked into one fish, I set the hook using 4 lb test line 7ft ultra lite spinning rod. When I hit the fish, Moved it about a foot if I was lucky. Then it left Ms heading to the Tn state line. Never turned it or even slowed it down. Seen giant schools of baitfish, some would swarm the 19ft Lund and be 30ft wide or better. Seen lots of top water action from around 7am up to 11 am. Almost pulled out the Zara Spook I had in the rod bot. But had a feeling if I did that crappie fishing was over. Marked a few spots that looked good but did not hit them. Water temp at the State line boat ramp was 63.6 degrees. When I loaded the boat up at 3:30pm it was back up to 67 degrees. Pete
  17. You will be shocked by what a 3" grub can do. Water color does not matter. Small-mouth can and do hit small baits even in muddy water. Pete
  18. For me fishing a river, without current. Is like taking a bath without water. Not a good thing for sure. But if there's no current and the winds blowing. Be sure to use it to your advantage also. Plus like you brought up the current seam. There's spots underwater that the current is lots slower then the rest. Those spots have been killer for me in years past also. Pete
  19. Be good to see you also. Hope the fish are biting and its all big ones that week. They were hitting Monday.. But we were crappie fishing. And it was 3 bass to each crappie.. Pete
  20. Going to the lake tomorrow. But going to spend 6 to 8 hours just driving around making 1/2ft contour maps of sections of the lake. Have a plan, plan is to find fish. Then take you to catch those fish. Crappie beds = dinner tomorrow + big bass eating crappie off crappie beds.

I bought one of the Humminbird 987C-SI units when they came out. Back then it was tough paying $1600.oo for that unit. But will say it allowed me to find structure to fish. That without the unit, I would have never found. This is from someone that had fished Pickwick Lake and below the dam for 40 years. Back in the spring I upgraded to a Helix 10 SI. This is by far a better unit and cost less then the first one. Side scan is so much better. But being able to make your own detailed lake maps. priceless for sure. I have used the SI to find fish and catch a limit in an hour. Buddy of mine I took out and showed how good the units worked. Took 1st place that weekend with his unit. That he only had 2 days. The next weekend he won second, next weekend he got 1st again. All because of the SI unit. This is of crappie, but was on a lake I had never fished on. And within 15 minutes my wife and I were catching fish like crazy. We caught over 100+ in 3 hours from that spot. See a creek channel in a way you have never seen one. Baitfish and you can see the fish feeding on these. Here's the same baitfish with the fish forcing them into a ball.
  22. Mine did the same thing. It has not been used in around a year. Ran it a few minutes and the sound stopped. Been over 10 months and it worked good last week. Hope it holds up until I get the new Ulterra.
  23. Happy Birthday buddy. Even though its late, here's your birthday gift from me. A fishing trip soon. Pete
  24. I'm in on this one. Sure is a long trip for me though. Its what 30 minutes. We will be camping below the dam or at the State park campground. But figure it will be below the dam. Pete
  25. Lots of people hauling out lots of fish for one thing. There's still nice fish in there. But this time of year hard to find them. Now early spring late winter its on . I have not fished there in 2 years myself. Pete
