Cool Spinnerbait!
Hmmm they The bass)might have the tendency to hit the blades more often than the hook. Looks like it could be a great wake bait if there werent any weeds. HMMM straight up arm with a blade underneath- Make the top blade -hey-trade it out for a cavitron blade-with a willow underneathHMMMMMMM- Japanese my A$$- they never invented a car-TV-DVD- Just good at copying and reinventing maybe . Cool Spinnerbait!
Its not streamline- There will be no use for that in the weeds. One of the atributes of a spinnerbait is to use it in the weeds. That looks like it will catch more weeds because of the angle of the obstructive arm. Regular arms are at an angle that the weeds will basically roll off. Having that clip is just more hardware to catch debris. JMO

Megastrike for Saltwater?
Hey Easy There Tony -I pay big bucks for that to happen LOL> Just kiddding.Let me tell you something about Roland. He was never ever a big believer in "attractants". He had come to see what we do here with the amino acids as a base . After spending a lot of time with him he agreed about the theories. He started to use Megastrike. He said he could actually bring fish in the boat without even setting the hook. The fish would swallow the baits and he would hoist them in. No big deal right. Then he started using it more and more often. What it does is raise your confidence level also. We have filmed bass and other fish picking up baits and expelling them and you never even knew they hit the bait. They hold on to the baits and usually just swim away. Anyone -especially the kids can detect the strikes. They dont expell it and that gives you a better chance to set the hook -resulting in less missed fish. As for the question in salt water- -It works just as well in that environment. Strippers-trout -flounder-fluke- all to hold on to the baits. I will be coming out with a new Megastrike in 2009.Something I have been working on for almost a year.I will send samples of course here first to BFR members.

Going to one of my favorite fishing spots this weekend-
I have been fishing the upper Hudson river for about 25 years now. Spring is ok-summer ok (Chestnut frog fishing) but this time of year can truely be amazing. There are 3 major creeks all about 10 miles apart where the bass winter every year. The water is in the 40's/ I am going to try the new skakE2 there and see what happens. I hope that I will have pics for ya on Monday. They like the smaller finesse baits now. There are a mixture of smallies and largemouth there. Cant wait- I'll keep ya posted

Slow rolling a buzzbait
I use that technique when the bass are not aggressive. I caught a fish in 12 inches of water the other day and I threw everything but the kitchen sink at them. The water was in the low 50's. I used traps -jerkbaits-senkos-spinnerbaits and said what the heck- I slow rolled a Cav 3/8 oz in shallow water. The bass was about 1 3/4 lbs but it was the only bass i caught in 1 1/2 hours-go figure.I also use that technique in early spring when the water gets about 52 degrees. I can usually guarantee that no one on the lake is doing it.

Gammy FInesse Wide Gap hooks
I have tried every hook there is for wacky riggn senkos-. Circle -Oct.ect. I lose way many fish with them. I know how to set a hook with them also-the time I lose them is right at the boat, sometimes it dosent get a good bite into the jaw or roof of the mouth. Sometimes its just a skin hook. I have tried the wide gap hooks also-they were OK but didnt wow me. They kinda stuck out like a sore thumb-werent natural looking in the clearer waters. I went back to the old EagleClaw #1 baitholder hook. When I set the hook I set the hook. *no wussy hooks sets.* I rarely miss or lose a fish on them. I can use any hook I want cause I see every one of them at the stores. I want results. The EagleClaw hooks are about $1.99 for 10 hooks. Ya cant beat them. I have gone out with pro's as well as weekenders and showed them that hook and changed their way of w-riggn

Jigs w/Trailer Keepers
I can honestly say that once the trailer is on there -if you try to remove it,it will probibly destroy the trailer. Sometimes it does sometimes it dosent. My point I was trying to make is when I want the trailer to stay put or affixed on the jig-this is the best trailer keeper I have ever used and I have used them all. I would gladly use 2 trailers a day then a dozen. I would rather spend or lose the money for the trailer then lose a fish due to the bait balling up at the bend or point of the hook. In a tournament that could be the difference between winning it -cashing a check or not cashing a check. It is also the best for just fun fishing. I hate losing fish to conditions I have control of.

Jigs w/Trailer Keepers
I have seen every type of trailer keeper there is. Some are spikes, some are hooks. The task that we want is for the trailer to stay in place and not to slide down the shank of the hook. I have seen way to many times and we have filmed this underwater-when you set the hook quickly and with a lot of force(typical jig or worm hook set) The force causes the worm or jig trailer to ball up near the bend or point of the hook. I have seen numerous fishermen including myself lose fish because of this. When that trailer slides down the shank -once there is an opening in that trailer-it will usually freeslide at will. Some guys use super glue but I got tired of glueing my fingers together or to the trailer. THE BEST trailer keeper I have found is the one we use on the EVO Jigs. (That is my opinion). When I put the trailer on I want it to stay put. Look at the picture below. The trailer goes on with the"grain" of the keeper. I pinch it to set it and when you pull it back-the keeper cuts into the plastic trailer holding it in place. It even does it with super salty baits like Yamamotos. The other plastics like Zoom work even better. Its a different consistancy of plastics. THE REASON IT WORKS is that the trailer keeper is sharp-If you have one -pinch it and look at your fingers. If the paint or powdercoating is to thick it will round out the sharp edges and the trailer will have nothing to hold on to. I have gone from using 10-12 trailers a day on jigs to using maybe 2 . Every time we design a bait or anyone for that matter designes one-they should always look on how to inprove an existing problem or flaw in a bait. AGAIN I STRESS USE WHAT YOU HAVE CONFIDENCE IN -But what we do here is like to show you the options- Then if it makes sense-use it. Thank You, Bobby@MegaStrike

Cavitron?
RBoat, Here is my rule for trailer hooks- When I am fishing a tournament I use a trailer hook-You do not want to miss that fish that could win you the tournament or get you a check . When I am out fun fishing I do not use them. A trailer hook has its pros and cons- It catches a lot of weeds and debris but on the other hand it could help catch that bass of a lifetime.

Cavitron question
Of course everyone is entitled to their preferance on baits. The Cavitron is a single bladed buzzbait which has a natural torque to one side-that is from the blade turning in that one direction. It does not have a counter torque or a second blade to balance out this torque. When the cavitron is retrieved to fast it will turn on its side-especially the smaller ones. The cavitron was designed to be retrieved slowly-thus keeping the bait in the strike zone longer. This also agitates bass into striking when they are not particularly in a feeding mood. <Make sure the head is level-all components line up properly-the cups in those blades grab a lot of water(resistance) The smaller the blade the smaller the resistance-the larger the blade the more resistance. There is a "sweet spot" on the retrieve. It is the optimum speed that the bait runs the best and truest. I have used this bait for many years and you just have to tune it to what the fish want. Remember like Roadwarior said-Its throwing what they want when they want it but sometimes you can provoke that strike. Keep using it and I promise you it will produce some monster size as well as numbers for you.

Caught A Nice One On A Cavitron Last Night
I new it was a big one when it hit-It moved a lot of water when it swirled on it. I crank my drag down tight all the time and it slipped a bit when it ran- It jumped about 4 times-Then when it got close to shore it got in some sticker bushes-and had to go get it -OUCH but it was worth it. Toward dark I get out the black bait -during the day I throw the white one at this time of year. Like I said I caught about 5 around the 2 -3 lb size-they were on the edges of the lily pads. Pulled 6 freakn deer ticks off me after that-I hate those things. That fish was broad-probibly around 6 1/2 to 7 lbs-remember we are in NJ thats a good one here. Then again there are no bad ones

Cavitron knot help!
FIVE- Nothing but nothing gets me or better yet got me madder than losing a good fish because of a knot or something else that we as fishermen have control of.There are certain things that happen while fishing that are totally out of our hands . KNOTS are a factor that we have control over. The only knot I tie is the Polomar knot. In my younger day I would tie that clinch- cinch knot. I lost a lot of big fish with that knot. As for your question-Cavitrons -you can use a polomar knot on-. You will be glad ya did.

BTS - Review-BFR's please read
Ok here it goes. I have met Rob from KVD Line and lure Conditioner- and have used his product with confidence. Then he sends me some Bow To Stern - I take care of all of my posessions because I make the payments on them and nothing is given to me free. For years I have used every name brand wax there is. They last a while then need to be reapplied. Its a pain in the tail as you all well know. It taked almost 2 hours to do the boat right from start to finish. I ran out of wax and had the BTS in the garage. I said what the heck better than nothing. I sprayed down the boat after washing it. Then reapplied it again after it dried. Only took me about 1/2 hr. Danielson -wipe on wipe off. I headed out to the nastiest testing ground for the product- Actually I was practicing for a tournament -THE DELAWARE RIVER-UGGH. Each time I go there I have to wipe down and wash the boat as soon as I pull it out of the water. It has this nasty Brown crap-slime -foam whatever it is that gets on there and is hard has heck to get off when it dries. It is the worst. So anyway I take the boat out at dark and the Marina was closing up- I didnt get a chance to wipe it down. I went home parked the boat -went to bed-woke up saying UGGH I better go wash that stuff off- I better get the chisel. So I went outside with a damp rag-I just started wiping around the transom -The scum-slime foam crap just started flaking off. I said HMMM . I just started wiping some more and it was coming off like there was Teflon or something underneath like the frying pans. This was my first expierence with BTS and I have to say I was impressed. I washed the boat again after wiping the crud off . Reapplied the BTS. I have a tournament there on Sunday. Lets see if it does it again. I am already sold on the products so give it A TRY FOR YOURSELF. Thanks Rob for a great product- I never mind spending money if you get what you pay for- it is worth every dime-just saves you time and headaches.
