I have already heard of numerous clubs that will stay away from Connecticut because of this bs. I will no longer fish Connecticut.

x2 Another possible thing that happens is the water takes over areas it once was not and there are more things like insects in the water which start a whole other food chain. So if the water is reasonable (under 80*) and provides shade then they will get up in the real skinny water. I'm talking about inches here. So skipping things like jigs and frogs as far back behind cover as you can, can be really productive. It is a typical spring and fall pattern up here when we get a lot of rain.

Also, have them pee in the pool while you're scratching....

Get in a pool and scratch..the chlorine dries it right out....

If you want big smallies on a fun pattern and light tackle learn to drop-shot. Look on the graph, see the fish, drop the drop-shot down on its head, feel the weight, then reel up. It is the best way to target big smallies because you can see them. You can look at how long the arch is, proportion it to the depth, but a weight on it, then decide if you want to fish for it. Worst comes to worst you fight a big drum or sheeps head on 6 pound line and a medium-light rod. Good times...

From ages 14-17 I got the shot. Got the flu all three years, and I don't mean the sniffles and a fever. Past three years I have not recieved the shot and have not gotten sick. I will take my chances.

It's happening here too. Use baits that cover and move water like spinnerbaits and traps to find the fish willing to feed.

Haha! I have caught some nice ones off those stumps. By seeing the Center of New England signs in the background I can guess which one it was. ;D Nice fish. Definatley the biggest fish I have ever seen out of there.

Scent or no scent...it makes ZERO difference. I have messed around with it a lot with all the big selling and popular ones and never noticed a difference.
